After years of rolling her eyes at my ‘extensive photo sessions,’ apparently she’s been taking notes. She was standing at the island, holding her phone at different angles, trying to find her light. I couldn’t help but watch from the doorway as she went through the whole process.

The critical review phase

The concentration on her face as she reviewed each attempt was priceless. She’d frown, adjust her position, try again.

It took about eight tries before she got one she actually smiled at.

When she finally nailed it, her whole face lit up. I may have created a monster, but honestly? I’m kind of proud. She’s learning confidence, and that’s never a bad thing. Even if it means our phone storage is about to take a serious hit.
