We went back to the Merrimon-Wynne House tonight for our fifth anniversary. Same venue where we got married, same dress code (fancy), same Marcus sketching random things on cocktail napkins while I pretend to be annoyed.

I may have worn a dress that’s suspiciously similar to what I wore when we were dating. What about it? Five years, two kids, one house, and I can still fit in the same size. Marcus noticed. He’s still smart like that.

The server asked if we were celebrating something special and Marcus said ‘surviving parenthood so far.’ I said ‘my husband’s hobby graveyard.’ We’re both right. Five years down, forever to go with my favorite nerd.
