Theo’s dinosaur collection has officially reached twenty-three plastic friends, and yes, he knows every single name. Today he spent fifteen minutes introducing me to ‘Stewart the Stegosaurus’ and ‘Patricia the Pteranodon’ like I was meeting actual royalty. When I accidentally called Stewart ‘Stephen,’ Theo looked at me with the kind of disappointment usually reserved for people who put pineapple on pizza.

The mailman got the full tour yesterday. Poor guy was just trying to deliver a package and ended up learning about ‘Reginald the Triceratops’ and his tragic backstory involving a lost horn (it broke off last week). Theo is twenty months old and already has better social skills than most adults I know. His friends might be plastic, but his passion is real.
I’m starting to think I need to take notes. There will be a quiz, and based on his reaction to the Stewart incident, failure is not an option.
