New Year, New House Goals (Send Help)
So Marcus and I made New Year’s resolutions. Mine: buy a house in 2016. His: survive my house hunting obsession. We’ve been at this since August and let me tell you, our little apartment is staging a rebellion.

There are real estate listings taped to our bathroom mirror, for crying out loud.
Marcus has reached the point where he makes that face whenever I say ‘I found another one!’

Marcus’s current mood: drowning in listings
But listen, when you know, you know. And I WILL know when I see our house. The kitchen island alone has become our war room - laptops, printouts, sticky notes with addresses I’ve already forgotten.

Me: This house is perfect! Marcus: But the foundation…
It’s like we’re planning a military operation, except the enemy is our budget and the battlefield is Zillow.

This is our life now. Marcus keeps muttering about ‘foundation issues’ and ‘realistic expectations’ while I’m over here bookmarking houses with cathedral ceilings and granite countertops. One of us is going to win this battle of wills, and spoiler alert: it’s going to be me. Because I’m the one who found the Christmas tree lot AND talked us into the good health insurance. I have a track record.
Something’s got to give though. Last night I caught Marcus looking at studio apartments in his sleep. Time to find our house before he stages his own rebellion.
