Thanksgiving Helper

Sophie announced this morning that she was going to help feed Theo his Thanksgiving dinner. I should have known what was coming when she dragged her little chair over to his high chair with that determined look on her face.

Turns out a five-year-old’s definition of ‘helping’ involves getting more mashed potatoes on the baby than in the baby. Theo thought it was hilarious - he’s been clapping his potato-covered hands and squealing with delight for the last twenty minutes. Sophie is so proud of herself for making her baby brother laugh.

Marcus and I just looked at each other and started laughing too. This is definitely not the Pinterest-perfect Thanksgiving I had in my head, but honestly? This messy, chaotic, potato-covered version is pretty perfect too. Happy Thanksgiving from our beautiful disaster to yours.
