The Incredibles (Emphasis on Incredible Chaos)

So we decided to do our first family costume this year. Obviously I had to be Elastigirl because hello, red leather and looking amazing? Sign me up. Marcus got the Mr. Incredible treatment complete with muscle padding that he was way too excited about. Sophie makes an adorable Violet, though she’s already mastering the teenage eye roll that comes with the character.

And then there’s Theo. Sweet baby Jack-Jack who apparently has strong opinions about wearing anything that isn’t his regular clothes. The screaming started the moment we put him in the costume and didn’t stop until we got home and stripped him down to his diaper. Marcus spent the entire trick-or-treat route bouncing a crying baby while trying not to trip over his cape.

The photos are adorable for exactly thirty seconds before the chaos resumes. Next year we’re going with something that requires zero costume changes for the baby. Maybe a family of people who wear regular clothes? Is that a thing? The candy was worth it though, and Sophie had a blast even if her brother provided the soundtrack of pure toddler rage.
