Twenty-Six and Still Learning

Marcus is officially 26 today, which means he’s been alive long enough to master carbonara and graphic design but apparently not long enough to figure out how to fold fitted sheets. His talents include making me laugh until I snort, explaining why The National is “basically poetry,” and somehow getting Sophie to eat vegetables when she refuses them from me.

Twenty-Six and Still Learning

Sophie made him a birthday card this morning - and by “made” I mean she grabbed crayons and went to town on construction paper while I held her hand and pretended we were collaborating. Marcus acted like it was the Sistine Chapel ceiling. He actually said “look at the color composition!” I married a nerd.

His birthday wish was for me to stop reorganizing his desk drawers, which shows he fundamentally misunderstands how organization works. I told him I’d consider it if he learns to put his dirty clothes IN the hamper instead of next to it. We’ll see who caves first.
