DTR: Defining the Relationship (Or How My Boyfriend Almost Died of Nervousness)
So apparently kissing someone at midnight on New Year’s Eve requires a follow-up conversation about “relationship parameters.” Who knew?

DTR: Defining the Relationship (Or How My Boyfriend Almost Died of Nervousness)
Marcus spent a solid twenty minutes this afternoon trying to define what we are, what we’re doing, and where this is all heading. The poor guy looked like he was giving a presentation to the board of directors instead of talking to the girl he’s been dating for three months.
I finally had to cut him off mid-sentence when he started talking about “mutual expectations and communication frameworks.” I mean, I love that he’s a thoughtful guy, but come on.

The moment he realized I wasn’t going anywhere
“Obviously we’re together, dork,” I told him, and I swear he looked both completely relieved and absolutely terrified at the same time. It was actually pretty adorable watching him realize he’d been overthinking the most obvious thing in the world.

My ‘obviously we’re dating, dummy’ face
We ended up talking for another hour after that, but it was the good kind of talking - the kind where you’re both smiling and holding hands and figuring out what being “official” actually means.

Sometimes the little moments say everything
I guess we’re doing this thing now. Officially. And yes, I’m probably going to tease him about his “relationship parameters” speech for the next six months.
