Six and Fearless
Sophie turned six today and the only thing she wanted was a bike with training wheels. Not a party, not a fancy cake, just wheels and the freedom that comes with them.

We’ve been in this house for three months now and I’m finally understanding what the realtor meant when she said it was ‘perfect for a growing family.’ The backyard isn’t huge, but it’s ours, and watching Sophie tear down that driveway like she’s training for the Tour de France made every mortgage payment worth it.
Theo spent the afternoon trying to keep up with his big sister, which mostly involved falling down and popping back up like a very determined jack-in-the-box.

Marcus ran alongside Sophie for about twenty minutes before admitting he needed a water break. I love my husband, but his cardio game needs work.
This is what the yard was for. Not for perfect Instagram photos (though I’ll take them), not for entertaining, but for moments like this - pure, screaming, six-year-old joy on two wheels with training wheels because we’re not ready for that level of chaos yet.
