Theo has discovered his voice, and apparently his voice is a dinosaur. His vocabulary is expanding daily, but his favorite new word by far is “RAWR.” Not “mama” or “dada” or “please” or “thank you” - RAWR.

The Roaring Toddler

He roars at the mailman through the window. He roared at the grocery store cashier yesterday, who thankfully thought it was adorable instead of concerning. He even roared at Abuela Rosa during Sunday dinner, and she roared back, which absolutely made his day. Nobody is safe from the tiny T-Rex terrorizing our house.

I’m equal parts amused and concerned about what this says about his future social skills. But honestly? Watching him stand on his tiptoes in the kitchen this morning, giving his most ferocious roar while wearing a dinosaur shirt, I couldn’t help but laugh. The dinosaur obsession is real, and it’s only getting stronger.

Marcus says we should encourage his passion. I say we should probably teach him some indoor voice concepts before preschool starts.
