The Artist Emerges (RIP My Work Papers)
So apparently we have an artist in the family. Sophie has decided that every flat surface in this house is her personal canvas, and honestly? I’m not mad about it.

The Artist Emerges (RIP My Work Papers)
It started innocently enough with actual coloring books. Then she graduated to napkins. Then my grocery lists. Yesterday I found her masterpiece on the back of Marcus’s work presentation, and when I showed him, instead of being annoyed, he got this proud dad look and said ‘Look at how she captures movement!’ It was a scribbled circle, Marcus. But also… maybe he has a point?
The kid draws constantly. While she’s eating breakfast, during bath time (waterproof crayons were both the best and worst purchase I’ve ever made), even in her car seat. She’ll grab any writing utensil within reach and just go to town. I found her this morning at the kitchen island, completely absorbed in her latest creation, tongue poking out in concentration like she’s Michelangelo working on the Sistine Chapel.
Marcus thinks we should nurture this. I think we should hide all the important paperwork. But watching her little face when she’s creating something? Yeah, we’re definitely getting more art supplies.
