So I did it. After four years of “Elena Unfiltered,” I’m officially changing the name to “The Hartwells.”

Because let’s be real — this stopped being just my story the moment Marcus walked into Mitch’s Tavern and started arguing with me about music. And it definitely stopped being just about me when this little person arrived and made everything more complicated and more beautiful.

I started this blog as a scared nursing student who thought she had the world figured out. Spoiler alert: I didn’t. I had no idea what I was doing with school, with boys, with life. Now I’m a wife, a mom, a nurse, and I STILL don’t know what I’m doing half the time, but at least now I’m not doing it alone.

The blog is evolving because we’re evolving. It’s not Elena Unfiltered anymore because my life isn’t just mine to filter. It’s ours. Marcus’s terrible cooking experiments, Sophie’s first everything, the beautiful chaos of figuring out how to be a family — that’s the story now. Welcome to the next chapter. We’re all doing great.
