I was walking upstairs when I spotted this little scene unfolding.

Sophie was in her room practicing guitar (she’s gotten so good, by the way), and there was Theo, trying his absolute hardest to be invisible while listening from the hallway. The kid thinks he’s a master of stealth. He is not.

He gave up being sneaky

Eventually he gave up the whole “secret spy” act and just planted himself in her doorway like he belonged there. Sophie pretended not to notice for a while, but I caught the exact moment she looked up and saw her audience of one.

That dimple of hers appeared immediately - she thinks it’s annoying when he follows her around, but secretly she loves having someone who thinks she’s cool.

Come here, you little music critic

Next thing I knew, she was gesturing for him to come sit with her. These two have their moments of driving each other absolutely crazy, but then something like this happens and my heart just melts. Sophie’s been working so hard on her music, and having Theo as her biggest fan (even when he’s trying to be sneaky about it) probably means more to her than she’d ever admit. Also, can we talk about how that NASA shirt is basically Theo’s uniform at this point? The kid has priorities.
