I had a vision today. Simple, cute photo by the kitchen island. Good lighting, casual outfit, maybe leaning against the counter with my coffee. You know, the kind of effortlessly gorgeous shot that definitely doesn’t take forty-seven attempts.

I should have known better than to ask Marcus to take it. The man physically cannot take a normal photo without providing commentary, making suggestions, or in today’s case, doing whatever dance move that was behind my back. I made it exactly twelve seconds before I completely lost it.

Sophie walked through and caught the whole meltdown on camera, which honestly produced better content than my original vision anyway. There’s something to be said for genuine moments, even when they’re not part of the plan. Plus Marcus looked so proud of himself for derailing my whole aesthetic.
