The Reluctant Audience

Sophie’s been practicing guitar for about an hour now, working through some new chords she learned this week. The improvement is honestly incredible - remember when she could barely hold a pick without dropping it? Now she’s playing actual songs that I recognize (and don’t make me cringe).

What she doesn’t realize is that she has her most dedicated fan stationed right outside her door. Theo has been ‘casually’ hanging out in the hallway for the past twenty minutes, pressed against the wall like he’s conducting surveillance.

Those chord changes are getting smoother

The kid who usually can’t sit still for five minutes during homework is perfectly content to listen to his sister play the same three songs on repeat.

Of course, Sophie eventually caught him lurking.

Subtle as always, mijo

Instead of being annoyed, she actually looked pleased - which is saying something because this is the same girl who puts a ‘DO NOT ENTER’ sign on her door if you so much as breathe near her room. Maybe there’s something to having an audience that genuinely thinks you’re amazing, even if that audience is your weird little brother who collects bugs.

Busted

Guess I know who’s getting front row seats to Sophie’s first concert. Whether he wants them or not.
