Reading Buddies

I don’t think Theo has read a book alone in the past two years. Every single time he settles down with a dinosaur encyclopedia or his latest library haul, Biscuit appears like he’s been summoned.

Today it was ‘The Complete Guide to Prehistoric Creatures’ - all 400 pages that Theo is determined to memorize by spring. Biscuit settled in for what he clearly assumed would be story time, complete with pictures.

When I checked on them an hour later, Biscuit had claimed half the living room floor and one of Theo’s stuffed triceratops as a pillow. Theo was still reading, one hand absently scratching behind Biscuit’s ears.

I’m not sure who’s training who at this point, but they’ve got their routine down to a science. Theo gets his reading time, Biscuit gets his Theo time, and I get the sweetest scenes to accidentally walk in on. Win-win-win.
