Working from home while homeschooling seemed like a good idea in theory. Marcus had it all planned out - work calls in the morning, educational activities with the kids in the afternoon, maybe even a productive Zoom meeting or two.

Then reality happened.

This is what I got at 2pm with the text ‘Everything is fine.’ Theo has turned Marcus’s favorite mechanical keyboard into abstract art, and Sophie has decided that TikTok dances are more important than long division. I can practically hear Marcus’s internal screaming through the photo.

Meanwhile I’m at the hospital thinking my husband is handling everything perfectly. The kitchen probably looks like a cereal bomb went off, Biscuit is definitely eating something he shouldn’t, and Marcus is questioning every life choice that led to this moment. But hey, at least Theo’s being creative? And Sophie’s getting her screen time in? We’re all just doing our best over here.

I told him I’d bring wine home. He said make it two bottles. Fair enough.
