So this happened. Marcus discovered homebrewing approximately 72 hours ago and our garage now looks like a science experiment gone wrong.

There are carboys and tubes and something called a “wort chiller” which sounds fake but apparently costs $89.

He’s been watching YouTube videos about hop profiles and yeast strains like he’s cramming for finals. I asked him what a hop profile was and got a twenty-minute explanation that I definitely didn’t ask for. The man who burns toast is now lecturing me about fermentation temperatures.

I give this hobby six months before it joins the great graveyard of Marcus’s abandoned interests. But hey, at least this one might produce alcohol. That’s more than I can say for his brief flirtation with woodworking.
