Our Fridge: The Accidental Art Gallery

So apparently Sophie has decided our refrigerator is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and honestly? I’m not mad about it. Every surface is covered in her latest masterpieces, from what I can only assume are dinosaurs (everything is dinosaurs in this house) to family portraits that are… interpretive.

I found this gem today - a family portrait where I have what can only be described as magnificent, voluminous hair that takes up half the page, Marcus is a literal stick figure, and Sophie gave herself a crown. The girl has priorities, and I respect them completely. She gave me volume. She gets it.

Marcus keeps trying to ‘rotate the gallery’ (his words) because we’ve run out of fridge space, but Sophie has strong opinions about her curatorial choices. Apparently the butterfly next to the grocery list is ‘supposed to be there, Daddy’ and cannot be moved under any circumstances.

I’m thinking of charging admission at this point. Our kitchen has become the hottest art scene in Apex, and Sophie is definitely not sharing the commission.
