Crowned
Sophie came home from daycare yesterday with a very important announcement: “Mama, I made you a crown because you’re the queen!” The construction paper masterpiece came complete with crayon flowers and glitter that’s still turning up in weird places.

Crowned
I’ve been wearing it for approximately eighteen hours now. Through dinner prep, bath time, bedtime stories, and this morning’s coffee. Marcus keeps trying to take photos “for posterity” but honestly? I think he just likes seeing me commit to the bit this hard.
Sophie told me queens don’t take their crowns off, so here we are. The neighbors have seen me in the front yard watering plants while wearing construction paper royalty. I regret nothing. When your two-year-old makes you a crown, you wear the crown. These are the rules.
