Turns out weddings cost approximately seventeen billion dollars. Flowers? $800 minimum. DJ? $1200. Photographer? Don’t even get me started. Every vendor quote makes me question whether we actually need food at our reception or if we can just serve love and good intentions.

Then Carmen called and offered to “project manage” our wedding, complete with spreadsheets and vendor comparisons and probably color-coded timelines. I told her thanks but no thanks — I can handle my own stress spiral, thank you very much. Though at this point, even Marcus is starting to look at me like maybe his sister has a point.
