Wedding Venue: Found! (My Wallet: Empty!)

After touring approximately seventeen billion wedding venues across the Triangle (okay fine, it was eight, but it felt like seventeen billion), we walked into the Merrimon-Wynne House in Raleigh and I literally gasped. Like, audibly gasped. The ballroom! The historic charm! The way the light hits those windows! Marcus, meanwhile, was doing math in his head and looking slightly green around the gills.

I may have gotten a little… enthusiastic. “This is IT, Marcus! This is where we’re getting married!” And bless his heart, he looked at the price sheet, looked at my face, looked at the price sheet again, and said “Well, we only get married once, right?” (Famous last words, honey. Famous last words.)

So October 18th, 2011 at the Merrimon-Wynne House it is! Now excuse me while I go figure out how to afford flowers that match the elegance of this place. Ramen noodles for dinner anyone?
