One Year Official (He's Still Stuck With Me)

So apparently it’s been exactly one year since Marcus officially asked me to be his girlfriend. I remember because it was Valentine’s Day 2009 and he made the most tragic attempt at spaghetti carbonara I’ve ever witnessed. The eggs scrambled. The pasta was mushy. I ate it anyway because he looked so proud and nervous.

Fast forward to today and guess what? He’s in there right now making the exact same dish for our anniversary dinner. Some things never change. Except now there’s a baby bump between us and a ring on my finger and the eggs are STILL scrambling. But you know what? I wouldn’t trade this chaos for anything.

He keeps asking if I want to order pizza instead and honestly, the answer is yes. But watching him try so hard to recreate our first Valentine’s disaster is the most romantic thing he could do. Even if we both know how this ends.
