OMG you guys!! Had my first cadaver lab today and let me just say - I was NOT prepared!!!

Cadaver Lab: In Which I Almost Became One

Like, I thought I was so tough and ready for anything nursing school could throw at me. I mean, I’ve seen Grey’s Anatomy like a million times, right??

So we walk into this room and there are just… bodies everywhere. REAL ONES. And the smell!!! Nobody prepared me for the smell!! I’m standing there trying to look all professional when suddenly the room starts spinning and I’m grabbing my lab partner Jessica’s arm going “Oh I’m just… stretching… yeah definitely just stretching my back” while literally using her as a human crutch to keep from face-planting into the anatomy table!!

Came home and immediately called Mom because I needed to hear a familiar voice after that trauma.

And what does she say? “Mija, if you can handle your Tia Rosa’s cooking, you can handle anything!” I’m DYING!! Like Mom, this is NOT the same as Tia Rosa’s questionable tamales!!! Although now that I think about it, some of those dishes were pretty scary…

Anyway I survived day one and I’m back to studying because apparently this is my life now.

Back to studying after today’s adventure

Send coffee and prayers, I’m gonna need both to get through this semester!!
