When They Were Little Kitchen Helpers
I was going through old photos on my phone today and found these gems from a few years ago.

When They Were Little Kitchen Helpers
Look at them! Sophie was maybe 11, still patient enough to help her little brother measure ingredients without losing her mind. And Theo - oh my heart - he was so tiny and so determined to help with everything.

When baking turned into floor picnic games
Of course, ‘helping’ quickly devolved into using measuring cups as toys and turning the whole thing into some elaborate floor game that only made sense in his six-year-old brain. Sophie went along with it because she was still in her sweet big sister phase before teenage attitude kicked in.

Little hands, big mess, perfect cookies
They were so focused on getting those cookies just right, working together like a little team. Those chubby hands next to Sophie’s slightly bigger ones - I’m getting emotional just looking at it.

Clean up was never really part of the plan
And yes, clean up was never part of their plan. Theo managed to get more cookie dough on his face than in the actual cookies, which honestly was probably his goal all along.
Now Sophie’s too cool to bake with us unless she’s in charge of the playlist, and Theo would rather tell me dinosaur facts than help measure flour. I miss these chaotic kitchen moments when they actually wanted to spend time together. Time really does move too fast.
