The Drama Kid Has Arrived
Y’all, I think we’ve officially entered the theater kid era. Sophie came flying through the door today practically vibrating with excitement about drama club rehearsal.

Before she even put her backpack down, she was texting what I can only assume was a play-by-play of every single scene to her friend Maya.
Then came the phone call.

And then came the phone call to her friend Maya to share EVERY detail
I swear this child has inherited my need to share good news immediately. She was gesticulating so wildly while describing how they ‘absolutely nailed the Act 2 finale’ that I thought she might take out a cabinet. The enthusiasm is infectious though - even Marcus looked up from his latest keyboard project to smile at her excitement.

Naturally had to demonstrate the bow that got applause from the director
And naturally, no drama club story is complete without a demonstration. She had to show me the bow that apparently earned applause from the director. I love watching her discover her confidence on stage - it reminds me of when I was finding my own voice at her age. Though let’s be honest, my stage was more about looking good in photos than actual theater.
Proud mom moment: she’s found something she’s genuinely passionate about, and it shows. Plus, all that projection practice means she can actually call for dinner from upstairs now. Win-win.
