Christmas Morning Magic
Christmas feels different this year — lighter, brighter somehow. I woke up actually excited instead of mentally calculating how many cups of coffee I’d need to survive the day. Maybe it’s because Sophie is eight now and can actually help with Theo instead of just adding to the chaos. Maybe it’s because Marcus has finally learned to make coffee that doesn’t taste like it was filtered through gym socks.

Christmas Morning Magic
I went a little overboard with decorating this year. Garland in the kitchen, lights on everything that doesn’t move, the works. Marcus built an actual fire in the fireplace last night (first time all season) and we sat there after the kids went to bed just… existing. No phones, no blog post planning, just us and the quiet. It was perfect.

The calm before the storm (aka before they realize there are more presents under the tree)
The kids are absolutely vibrating with excitement. Theo has been awake since 5:47 AM asking if it’s time to open presents yet. Sophie is trying to be mature about it but I caught her peeking around the corner at the tree three times before 7 AM. This Christmas feels like the beginning of something instead of the end of something, you know? I’ll take it.
