Red, White, and Looking Good
Fourth of July in the backyard is basically our family’s Super Bowl. Marcus fired up the grill at 4 PM because he takes his burger game seriously, and I put on this red sundress because I take my looking-good game seriously.

Sophie spent an hour perfecting her sparkler name-writing technique – turns out cursive in fire is harder than it looks. Theo claims he’s “not scared of fireworks” but somehow keeps finding reasons to stand directly behind Marcus whenever anything pops or sizzles. The kid’s developing some serious strategic hiding skills.

Sundress season is my favorite season.
Marcus made me pose for this because he said the dress was “too good not to document.” I didn’t argue. Thirty years old and finally starting to feel like the best version of myself – confident, comfortable, and completely okay with admitting when I look good. Which is most of the time, but especially in this dress.
The burgers were perfect, the sparklers lasted exactly long enough, and nobody lost an eyebrow. I’m calling it a win.
