Found these two in full sibling cooperation mode this afternoon, which honestly might be the most shocking thing that’s happened all week.

Sophie has appointed herself Theo’s official math tutor, and surprisingly, no one has cried yet. This is what we call progress in the Hartwell house.

Watching Sophie explain fractions with the patience of a saint while Theo actually sits still long enough to listen feels like witnessing a small miracle.

The lightbulb moment

There was a moment where I thought we might have a breakthrough - that lightbulb look on Theo’s face when something finally clicked. Of course, the breakthrough was immediately followed by him asking if dinosaurs understood fractions, but we take wins where we can get them.

The work in progress

Twenty minutes later and one completed worksheet, they’re both looking pretty proud of themselves. Sophie’s earning major big sister points, and Theo managed to keep his one remaining sock on through the entire session.

Victory!

I’m calling this a complete victory for everyone involved. Now if only I could get them to cooperate this well when it’s time to clean their rooms.
