The Art of the Perfect Nap
There’s something about a dog sleeping in a sunbeam that just makes everything feel right in the world.

The Art of the Perfect Nap
Biscuit found the perfect spot in the living room this afternoon and claimed it like he’d discovered treasure. The way the light was hitting his golden fur, the complete peace on his face – I had to capture it.
Of course, Theo spotted him too and decided he needed to conduct a stealth mission around the sleeping giant.

The face of pure contentment
The exaggerated tiptoeing, the finger to the lips – this kid takes ‘don’t wake the dog’ very seriously. Though let’s be honest, Biscuit could probably sleep through a marching band at this point.
The dream must have been a good one because his paws were going the whole time. I’m pretty sure he was chasing the neighbor’s cat or maybe running through a field of tennis balls.

Someone’s trying not to wake the dreaming dog
The big stretch when he finally woke up was the perfect ending to what might be the most peaceful twenty minutes our house has seen all week.
Sometimes I think Biscuit has figured out something the rest of us are still learning – how to find the perfect spot and just be completely, blissfully content. Not a bad life lesson from the family golden retriever.
