Choosing

Some stories aren’t for the internet. Some chapters of your life belong to just you and the people who lived them with you. This is one of those posts where I’m not going to tell you everything, because not everything is mine to tell.

Choosing

What I will say is this: marriage is not a destination. It’s not something you achieve and then coast through. It’s a choice you make every single day, and some days that choice is harder than others. Some seasons test everything you thought you knew about yourselves and each other. We had one of those seasons.

But we’re on the other side now. We chose each other again. We keep choosing each other. That’s the whole story that matters. The rest is just ours, and that’s exactly how it should be. Tonight we’re making dinner together in our kitchen, and it feels like the most ordinary, extraordinary thing in the world.
