👩‍⚕️ Elena

Sophie will be four in June, and I’ve been thinking about what that means for my body. Not the number on the scale or the size of my jeans, but what this body has accomplished.

I made a human. A whole human who now asks me seventeen questions before 8 AM and has opinions about dinosaurs that could fill a textbook. This body carried her, delivered her, fed her. It also ran a half marathon last month because apparently I hate myself but also love endorphins.

I’m done with the “getting my body back” narrative. This IS my body. It’s stronger than it was before Sophie, more capable, more mine. The stretch marks are proof of work. The muscle definition is proof of work. All of it - proof of work.

So no, I’m not apologizing for how I look in running clothes after a 6-mile morning. This body earned its right to exist exactly as it is.
