So I brought Marcus to Jen’s little gathering tonight. Nothing fancy - just a few girls from nursing school, some wine, the usual Saturday night thing. I figured it was time to see if he could handle my people. What I didn’t expect was for him to completely win them over.

The interrogation started immediately. Sarah asked about his “intentions.” Katie grilled him about his job. Melissa wanted to know his five-year plan. I was ready to rescue him, but he just laughed and started telling them about the time he accidentally superglued his fingers to a client presentation. Had them all cracking up within five minutes.

Jen pulled me aside later and said “I like this one. He’s funny and he looks at you like you hung the moon.” Which is sweet and all, but now I’m realizing I might actually be falling for this nerdy guy who draws on napkins and makes terrible puns. This wasn’t part of the plan.
