Officially a Sophomore!
OMG you guys, I can’t believe I actually survived my freshman year of nursing school!! Like seriously, there were moments (okay, entire weeks) where I thought I was going to have a complete mental breakdown in the middle of anatomy lab. But here I am, sitting in my tiny kitchen with a glass of the cheapest red wine Harris Teeter had to offer, and I MADE IT!

Officially a Sophomore!
I’ve been going back and forth all week about whether to stay in Chapel Hill this summer or go home to Durham. On one hand, my mom keeps texting me about how she misses me and wants me home (subtle, Mom). But on the other hand, there’s something so grown-up and independent about staying here, you know? Plus I found this waitressing job at this cute little bistro on Franklin Street, and the tips could actually be decent with all the summer visitors.
So… drumroll please… I’m staying!! I’m going to be a real Chapel Hill summer resident, working my butt off slinging sandwiches and probably getting way too tan. My roommate Jess is staying too, so we can split the rent and have our own little adventure. This feels like such a big decision, like I’m actually becoming a real adult or something. Terrifying and exciting at the same time!
Anyway, here’s to surviving pharmacology, to cheap wine that tastes expensive when you’re celebrating, and to whatever this summer brings. I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing, but I’m pretty sure that’s normal at 18, right? RIGHT?? 🍷✨
